I’ve been pretty quiet over on social media and my blog lately. My mind has been in full on pregnancy mode and I’ve had no energy to do anything. My mental health has also taken a bit of a hit which I’m trying to manage.
HOWEVER… If you do follow me on social media, and you’ve probably guessed from the title of this post, you would have seen our new baby, which is due in December, is a girl!
I’m still in total shock about this. I had convinced myself that I was 100% having another boy. Boys are strong in Nathan’s family so we had just assumed the baby was a boy. I will say now that I didn’t have a preference in the sex of the baby. I had different reasons to why I wanted each sex and I would have been so happy with either a boy or a girl. But I’m over the moon we now know what we’ll be having and the name we’ll be using, which we will be keeping to ourselves until she’s born.
We found out at a private scan we paid for when I was 16 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I’m too impatient to wait for our 20 week scan at our hospital! The lady who scanned me was so lovely and when she said those words, ‘You’re having a little baby girl’, I was so shocked. I made her check again and again. I didn’t believe it! I’d convinced myself so much it was a boy that the scan must have been wrong! She showed me from multiple views that it was a girl so I started to believe her… sort of.
We’re over the moon that Oliver is going to have a little sister and we cannot wait for her to arrive. I’m now spending my free time looking at clothes, nursery ideas and much more for our girl. If anyone has any favourite places they love to shop for baby girl bits let me know! My favourite place is NEXT at the moment. I’ve always loved their boy clothes and their girl clothes are just as gorgeous!
Hopefully the next post I’ll be sharing is about my first trimester – about 4 weeks late but better late than never!
