For Christmas Oliver was gifted by his Grandma and Grandad two Childs Farm products. He was given the shampoo and bubble bath which are both suitable for sensitive and eczema prone skin. Oliver hasn’t really got sensitive skin but it can sometimes go quite dry. He’s still got a bit of cradle cap on the top of his head but it’s no where near as bad as when he was a baby. Both my husband and I suffered from eczema when we were younger so we are half expecting Oliver to get it too.
I was really excited when Oliver got the Childs Farm products as I’ve heard some great things about them. As I’ve said, we are kind of expecting Oliver to develop eczema so I’m really happy we can start using it early on to possibly prevent it or lessen the severity of it. We’ve used both Childs Farm products a few times now so I thought I’d share what we think of them.
The Important Bits
Of course, the most important thing is what’s in the product and who can use it? Well here’s a quick and easy round up of the products themselves;
- Suitable for newborn & upwards
- Over 98% naturally derived ingredients
- No artificial colours.
- Free from parabens, SLS (Sodium Laureth Sulfate) and mineral oils
- Contains organic essential oils
- Paediatrician and dermatologist approved
I love seeing a product that is free from all the nasty bits.
So the first thing I did, which I usually do to all bath products, is smell them. My god, they smell amazing! The shampoo contains strawberry and organic mint, so it has quite a nice fresh and fruity scent. The bubble bath, which is my favourite, contains raspberry and it smells amazing! I’m half tempted to use it myself but I think it would be a bit mean on Oliver seeing as it was a Christmas present! I’m pretty pleased that a product that is free from so much nasty stuff still smells so good.
Like you’d expect with a bubble bath it created a lot of bubbles, which Oliver is a fan of! You don’t need to use a lot of it, so it’s nice to know it’ll last a long while. The same goes for the shampoo, a little goes a long way. I’ve not got much to say about using the products to be honest – The shampoo lathered up nicely and did the job and the bubbles lasted the whole time Oliver was in the bath – Nothing worse than the bubbles disappearing too quickly in a bubble bath!
After the bath
Oliver’s skin felt so soft and smooth after the bath. Oliver can sometimes get some dry bits on his arms and legs and I didn’t notice any when he was dried. He smelt beautiful so of course I spent the next hour just smelling him – Other parents will understand this is totally not a weird thing to do! His hair probably doesn’t look as clean as it has done after using other products, but it still looks and smells really clean. I really want to try Oliver on Childs Farm’s conditioner, so hopefully this may help a bit.
Any side effects?
None that I could see. Obviously, as I’ve previously mentioned, Oliver doesn’t suffer from sensitive skin as such, just a few dry patches here and there, but it’s still nice to know that the product is gentle to the skin.
Would I recommend Childs Farm products?
Yes I totally would! They smell gorgeous, free from the nasty things and they make Oliver’s skin feel lovely and smooth. If your child suffers from sensitive skin I think this product is definitely worth a try. It’s mainly aimed for sensitive and eczema prone skin so hopefully it won’t cause any bad reactions on any children with sensitive skin. I really want to try more of their products as they have a huge variety.
Have you tried Childs Farm products before? What did you and your child think of them? Let me know if you have any recommendations!
