Back in June I turned 25, and it’s suddenly occurred to me that I’m half way through my 20’s. It feels like yesterday when I turned 20! I have a huge list in my head of things I want to do in my life, but excuses just keep popping up. I’ve decided it’s time for me to stop letting excuses get in the way. I’m going to make a bucket list of things I want to do before I turn 30. If I don’t write a bucket list I will just continue to plod along and let these excuses get in the way.
I thought 30 was a good age to set as a deadline. 5 years is a long while when you think about it – You can do a lot in 5 years! I don’t want to write unrealistic things as there will be a lot I know I won’t be able to do for a while. I’m desperate to walk part of the Great Wall of China, but with a young child that won’t be such a great idea before I’m 30.
I’ve always had a funny relationship with books. When I get into a good book I read it non-stop for days. When I’m flitting between books and trying to find a good story I can never get into one! I love it when I do get into reading as it’s so relaxing and you can really escape from the world. I’d love to read more over the next few years.
I don’t actually know whether I’ve been to Edinburgh! I’ve always wanted to visit as it looks so beautiful and I hear so many great things about it. I’m hoping we’ll be able to go for a weekend away some time. (I’ve since been told I have visited Edinburgh, 11 years ago! Either way I don’t remember the trip at all so I’d like to go again!)
Climb Mount Snowdon
Back in 2013 when my husband, Nathan, was just my boyfriend at the time we went camping in Wales. We’d planned to walk up Mount Snowdon, but we knew I’d never make it – I was unfit and lazy! Nathan surprised me with train tickets to make sure we actually made it up the mountain, and for good reason… Nathan asked me to be his wife at the very top of the mountain! Ever since then I’ve wanted to walk up the mountain myself to go back to the spot where it all happened.
I’ve always wanted to do this! I actually booked an appointment once but I got a cold the day before so I wasn’t allowed to. Since then I’ve been on medication so I’ve not been able to. I’m hoping in the next couple of years I’ll come off my medication – fingers crossed I do so I can finally give blood!
We wanted to go on holiday to Canada next year, but it was double the price we were expecting. We’d like to save up over the next couple of years and hopefully go in 2019 or 2020. We’d love to go to Toronto and visit Niagara Falls.
Have Another Baby
I’d love to squeeze in having a 2nd baby in all of our plans. I’d ideally love to fall pregnant some time next year, but you can’t control these things! Having another child is probably top on things I want to do, so all other plans will have to work around this 2nd baby!
Lose All My Baby Weight
So this may not make sense after saying I want another baby! You may have read that I put on a lot of weight in my pregnancy with Oliver. I really want to lose the weight I put on before falling pregnant again. Once I’ve lost the weight and (hopefully) fall pregnant again I’m going to eat healthily, so I hope I won’t put on so much. I’m dying to get back to the weight I was originally. I genuinely don’t feel myself in this body.
Finish Decorating Our House
We started decorating the day we got our keys but now we’ve sort of hit a wall. The living room is half painted and we haven’t started on anything else. I want to get back into decorating to make this house a home.
Visit Disneyland in Paris
I have NEVER been to Disneyland Paris. I can’t quite believe it! Once Oliver get’s a little older I’d love to take him. I hope to visit around Christmas time as I’ve seen photos and it looks beautiful!
I think this is a nice chunk of things to do before I’m 30. Some may be easy and some a little harder, but now they’ve been written down I’m more determined to complete them. Have you got a bucket list of things you’d like to accomplish? Let me know what you want to do!
