I can’t believe it’s already August! Where has this year gone? Before you know it we’ll all be wearing boots and chunky knit jumpers – but let’s be honest, I’m quite excited for it! The British weather hasn’t really been the best this month so I’ve been trying to make the most of what sun we’ve got! I haven’t done a personal life update recently. I feel like I’ve done so much the past few weeks. It may not seem like much to some, but as a mum who suffers from anxiety it’s quite a lot for me.
Oliver turned one last month
I can’t believe it! Oliver turned one year old last month! The past year has flown by and it’s pretty darn scary. He’s now a confident little boy. I don’t even class him as a baby anymore, I’ve started calling him a toddler! We had a nice little family birthday party for him, which if you missed you can find some photos here.
We visited a local soft play centre with family
I hadn’t been to a soft play centre since moving home and I was too scared to go alone. We decided to meet with Nathans cousin and her daughter and go to a soft play centre they know and love. It was so much fun! As soon as I popped Oliver down on the floor he was off, he wouldn’t stop! He was fascinated by the Cosy Coupe (photo one) so we put him in there and he started to turn the steering wheel like he was driving. It was adorable!
We took a trip to Flatford Mill
I’ve written a post about our day to Flatford Mill, and I can’t wait to do it again. This particular day was a tough one for me. I was feeling super anxious before but I didn’t want to cave and not go. I was so self-conscious and anxious when we arrived but after taking a long walk which took us away from the busy areas I calmed down. This day was quite a sunny one so I wanted Oliver to enjoy the sunshine, so I ultimately did it for him.
Nathan and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary
2 whole years we’ve been married! It feels like our wedding was yesterday! We decided to celebrate by having an indoor picnic for dinner with some wine. It may not sound like much but to us it was wonderful. I just want to take a moment here to say I love my husband dearly and I really do not know what I would do without him. Let’s see what the next year brings!
We had a day out to Audley End Miniature Railway Station
I was kindly invited to visit the summer Fairy and Elf Festival at Audley End Miniature Railway Station this month. We went with my parents and it was a lovely family day out. I’ve written about it here if you fancy reading more about it!
We celebrated my Grandads Birthday
It was my Grandads 87th birthday last month so we went to a family gathering round my Aunts to celebrate. The sun was shining and it was lovely to see our family all together again.
We had ice-creams at the local park
One of my closest friends came up to visit us last week and we took a walk to the local park. I hadn’t actually been to the local park myself (yeah I know, anxiety sucks) so it was great to go with a friend. Oliver had a play around, had some snacks whilst we had ice-creams and he practiced walking in his shoes – which leads me on to the next one…
We have a walker!
Oliver is now walking! I’m literally so excited for him! He now doesn’t stop walking from one side of the room to the other, and he loves it. He’s been trying to walk for ages but he’s not quite been confident enough to do so, but one day he just got up and went! My little boy is growing up so fast!
We spent the day at a wildlife park with Helen and Dougie
We finally got to meet Helen and Dougie (TheHelsProject) when we met up with them at Paradise Wildlife Park. It was such a cute day and the boys had so much fun. Oliver hasn’t had much contact with other babies so I was slightly nervous that he’d be a little terror… But he had so much fun playing and chasing Dougie! They were constantly giggling together and sharing each others food. It was such a lovely day and the weather was very kind to us. I can’t wait for our next play date together!
We haven’t got much planned for the next couple of weeks. We’ve got Olivers (delayed) one year photo shoot, Nathans birthday and another family birthday party to go to, but I don’t think we have much less planned! I want to go out more with just Oliver whilst Nathan is working, but that’s definitely a work in progress. I feel like I’ve done so well this month, so I need to keep it up! Maybe in the next month or so I’ll do another life update, so keep an eye out!
What plans do you have for the next month or so? I’d love to see what you get up to!
