June Goals

Okay, so I know we’re already a week into June, but since coming home from holiday I’ve found myself to be more unorganised and not as positive as before. I need to set some goals. My Husband and I still haven’t fully unpacked from our move (We moved here in the middle of April!) and we have a baby due in a month. To say I’m panicking is an under statement! It’s also looking like it’s going to be a busy few weeks, and it includes my birthday too, so we don’t have as much time spare as we’d like to have. Luckily we have the help of our parents, however it would be nice to feel some what organised right now!

I think the issue for me is where to start with it all. There is quite a lot that needs to be done, but which job do we start first? Seeing as I’m nearly full term in the pregnancy I can’t lift heavy boxes which doesn’t help us much, so I’m having to do the little bits and pieces around the house. I totally have time for this, I’ve been on maternity leave for a few weeks now, just finding a place to start has been so daunting for me that I’ve been delaying starting anything.
Because my mind is all over the place (Blaming that baby brain!) I’ve decided to create some goals that I would like to aim to get done by the end of the month. Our baby is due 5th of July, so he could even come at the end of June *OMG*… So I need to get myself into shape and get sh*t done!!

Finish unpacking boxes – This is an absolute must. We can’t be living out of boxes with a newborn around, how difficult would that be! Most of the boxes are in his nursery (Because that was the room we weren’t using at the time – what a mistake that was!) so they really do need to get sorted!
Finish washing our little ones clothes – This I can at least say I have started. We’ve recently just bought some newborn outfits which need washing and then to be hung up in his nursery (whenever his nursery is cleared that is!).
Practice our Hypnobirthing techniques – Throughout the whole of May we attended weekly Hypnobirthing classes (I may right a separate post about these classes) so we really need to start practicing our techniques ready for when labour eventually happens. We’re going to free up a couple of nights a week to do this. 
Finish off the nursery – By this I mean put everything in it’s place and make it actually look like a nursery. As I mentioned above it’s a bit of a dumping ground right now, so once the boxes have gone I’d like to make the room look child friendly.
Pack our hospital bag – I used our hospital bag when we wen’t away last week, so I need to clear that so I can make a start on it. I feel like I’ll be packing the kitchen sink too by looking at the list I’ve made!
Enjoy my birthday – Because I’ve been so focused on the baby coming, I’ve nearly been forgetting it’s my birthday soon! I want to be able to relax this day and forget about the craziness of life right now and focus on me, because I don’t think I’ve done this enough recently.
Schedule tweets and blog posts – When the baby eventually does come, I’ll probably be out of action for a week or two. I don’t want to leave my blog with no new content so throughout the month I’m going to spare some mornings to write a few blog posts. Adding to that too I want to schedule some tweets using Buffer so I’m not dead on social media! (Although do expect tons of baby photos!)
Enjoy this last month with my Husband – This to me is very important. As much as we are so excited for the start of our little family, it’s going to be weird it not being ‘just us two’ anymore. I really want to spend some quality time with him and enjoy the peace and quiet in the house!
Stay positive – Last, but not least, I want to stay positive. I keep on getting waves of anxiety just thinking about looking after a new born, but I need to remain positive and know I can do this. This my Husband is very good at reminding me of. 
If our little one hasn’t made his arrival by the end of the month, I’ll write another post to let you all know how we got on with these. If you follow me on Twitter you’ll soon see if he’s made an early arrival!

    Love this! And I'd love to hear about your hypnobirthing techniques, I'm planning to do classes – I'm guessing you'd recommend them? Good luck with your June goals! Helen xx

    I really would recommend hypnobirthing. I find the breathing techniques to be excellent and I'm really looking forward to using them in labour, so fingers crossed they work! I'll let you know! 🙂 xx

    I absolutely love this kind of post, it's so great to read people's motivation for the month ahead! I particularly enjoy the one about being positive, we all need positiviy to get us through the month! (especially when the weather has been so miserable in the past few days!)

    It really is! I love reading other monthly goal posts. Being positive is so important to get through life, there needs to be more of it! 🙂
